“There are no bad teams, only bad leaders.” – Jocko Willink, former navy Seal
I grew up in a small town and was raised in a big family – nine kids. That taught me the value of sharing and that shit rolls downhill. I was a swimmer in college, I write and record music and I’ve even kissed the Blarney Stone. Not sure if that gave me the gift of true eloquence but I consistently sell work that the account people say the client will never buy. Along the way I’ve helped build companies from their beginning (Kia), through mergers (AT&T), startups (Move.com) and helped rebuild them in maturity (Fiat/Chrysler). Running big accounts and large groups has taught me to lead from behind. It’s how I took a team of local creatives doing Tier 2 for FCA and won brand project after brand project, beating out some of the top agencies around.
Being a good leader isn’t about me, it’s about them.
But a bit more about me. I’ve created variety shows, fed lines to Charlie Sheen, ran the beach with David Hasselhoff, and wrote jokes for Joan Rivers. All in service of the big idea.
The beat goes on…
