I grew up in a small town and was raised in a big family – nine kids. That taught me the value of sharing
and the concept that shit rolls down hill. I was a collegiate swimmer, which gave me a strong work ethic
and showed me the difference between good and great could be a tenth of a second. I have since
traveled all over the world and even kissed the Blarney Stone. Don’t know if that actually gave me the
gift of true eloquence, but presenting and selling work is a definite strength. I’ve always loved the written
word and consider writing to be a visual art. Along the way I’ve helped build companies from their
beginning (Kia) through mergers (AT&T) and helped rebuild them in maturity (Fiat/Chrysler). I’ve learned
that the conversation can be changed if what’s being said is compelling enough. And that being a great
leader isn’t about me, it’s about them.
I’ve written songs, created variety shows, fed lines to Charlie Sheen, ran the beach with David Hasselhoff,
wrote jokes for Joan Rivers and discussed Superbowl ads with Bill Bellamy. All in service of the big idea.
